Leaderboard & Rating
This league ranks players by a modified Elo system, which determines your skill relative to other players based on the contribution (contr.) stat and the outcome of each game. For more information about the modified Elo system, see the wiki.
Game Modifications (mods)
Golden Rule
Any mod or texture pack that modifies your client or the game in ways that make it unfair for players running Vanilla Minecraft is NOT ALLOWED. This includes ‘hacked/utility’ clients, texture packs that remove pumpkin overlay or make string or suspicious sand easier to see, x-ray mods or texture packs, any movement, ESP or vision mod that is not possible to replicate in Vanilla Minecraft.
Allowed Mods
- Sodium
- Lithium
- Fullbright (maximum gamma is 1200, any higher is not allowed)
Banned Mods
- Zoom Mods
- No-Fog Mods
- Shaders
- Minimaps/World Maps
- HUD Modification Mods (Armor HUD, Appleskin, etc.)
- Macros (including window resize macros)
- 3rd Party Clients (LunarClient, etc.)
- External tools for finding strongholds (eg. Calculators like NinjaBrain Bot)
- Auto-clickers
- Freecam mods
- X-Ray (see more about x-ray below)
- Entity/Player Radar
Exceptions
Certain exceptions are made to the Golden Rule for the purpose of increasing accessibility and providing an enjoyable gameplay experience.
- Cosmetic mods that do not provide any advantage over Vanilla are allowed. This includes SOME BUT NOT ALL texture packs.
- Performance mods not listed above that help bridge the hardware gap without affecting gameplay
- Accessibility mods that are required by players with disabilities to have an equitable gameplay experience are allowed even if they affect certain gameplay behaviors. Always check with the league commissioner before you use an accessibility mod that has not been explicitly allowed!
If there is a mod you wish to use and you are not sure if it is allowed, ask first before using it.
Clients, Launchers & Mod Loaders
Any 3rd party Minecraft client is banned. This includes Feather, LunarClient, and of course any hacked clients. The following launchers and mod loaders are allowed. Any launcher, client, or mod loader not in the list below is not allowed.
Allowed Launchers
- Vanilla Launcher
- Modrinth Launcher
- Prism Launcher
- MultiMC
Allowed Mod Loaders
- Vanilla
- Fabric
Bugs, Hacks & Exploits
F3
- The F3 pie chart is a vanilla feature and is allowed for strategies like pie-ray at all times
- All information available on the F3 screen in vanilla Minecraft is allowed to be viewed at all times
- The F3+A x-ray strategy is not allowed. Intentionally spamming F3+A is a violation of these rules
Bugs & Glitches
- Duplication glitches may not be abused during lockout
- Any behavior that causes undue stress on the server is not allowed
- Spawn-Immunity abuse (re-logging repeatedly to avoid taking damage) is not allowed
- Combat-logging is not allowed
X-Ray
Players may not exploit any vanilla bug that allows them to see through walls. This includes spamming F3+A, using high FOV and a stretched window, or intentionally clipping through a wall to see through them. Unintentional x-ray such as from rendering lag or clipping onto the nether roof/into a crawling position is acceptable. Intentionally attempting to see through walls is not allowed even if it is a vanilla bug.
Gameplay
- Games will be played on a vanilla Minecraft server with a maximum render distance of 16 chunks.
- Difficulty will be Normal.
- Unless unanimously decided by the players, teams will each be in a separate voice call during the game.
- If you wish to speak with the other team during the game, you must receive permission through the Minecraft chat from a member of the other team before joining their call.
- Players may not join mid-game without unanimous permission from all players
- Players who join mid-game must not have been spectating the game
- Spectators may not give any information to players and will be banned from spectating if they do so.
- If a player interacts with the world before the game begins the seed must be reset
Time Limits
The following rules are intended to protect the health and sleep of all lockout players.
- All Ranked league games have a time limit of 120 minutes. When time elapses, the team with the most goals wins. If the game is tied, it ends in a draw.
- On weekday nights during the school year, all games will end at 11:30pm. All other nights, games will end at 1:00am. If a team is in the lead by more than three goals and the game has lasted longer than 45 minutes, the leading team automatically wins. If the goal deficit is less than or equal to three, the game will be suspended to be resumed at the next earliest convenience of all players.
- If both teams agree to a draw before the two hour time limit, the game will end in a draw
- If one team fully agrees to resign, the game will end in a loss for that team
- If all the members of one team have been disconnected from the server for three minutes, their team automatically resigns (with some exceptions for extenuating circumstances like internet failure)
Enforcement
If a player is found to be breaking any of these rules, they will receive at least a one week ban from this and any higher league. Any goals the cheater got during the game will count as “failed goals” and impact their Goal% stat. On the second offense, the cheater will receive up to a one month ban and their stats will be removed from the league leaderboard. On the third offense, they will be permanently banned from this and any higher league with pardon to be given at the league organizer's discretion.
All punishments are ultimately decided by the league organizer. These rules are subject to change at any time. If you have questions or concerns about these rules please contact the league organizer before playing.
